Fernando Redondo Solari is a retired Argentine professional football player who played as a defensive midfielder. He was born on 6 June 1969 in Adrogué, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Redondo began his professional football career with the Argentinian club, Argentinos Juniors, before moving to Spain to play for Real Madrid in 1994.
During his time at Real Madrid, Redondo won several major trophies, including La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, and the Intercontinental Cup. He was renowned for his excellent ball control, technical ability, and defensive skills, and was considered one of the best defensive midfielders of his era.
Redondo also represented the Argentine national team on 29 occasions, scoring one goal. He played in the 1994 and 1998 World Cups, and helped Argentina win the Copa América in 1993.
After retiring from football in 2004, Redondo pursued a career in coaching and management. He has coached several lower league teams in Spain, as well as serving as a commentator and pundit for Spanish television.
